One of the most striking things anyone has said to me about music came from Steven Schick at a masterclass at MSM. Someone had asked him what his process is like when he’s coming up with an interpretation of a piece, and he said that part of his process involves asking as many questions as possible, and that the best music comes from asking the best questions.

The intent with this piece is to have a conversation, in the most literal sense of what it means to have a conversation through music.
