I’m not yet sure what this will become is written for the BrassTaps Duo, Anthony DeMartinis and Evan Zegiel, out of the University of Michigan. I met Anthony at the 2017 Yarn/Wire Summer Institute at Stony Brook University; a few months later, he asked me to write this piece. I am extremely thankful to both Evan and Anthony for trusting me to write for their new group; but especially thankful to Evan for helping me figure out how the Tuba really works, especially how it works when you take it apart.
